Since its inception in 1982, the Fire Island Lighthouse Preservation Society, a non-profit organization, has managed the restoration, daily operations, and preservation of our local historic maritime site, keeping the Fire Island Lighthouse open to the public year-round. Visit our keeper's quarters, museums, and 182-step climb to the top of the tower providing 360-degree views of the Atlantic ocean, Fire Island National Seashore, the bays of Long Island, and the skyline of Manhattan!
