Saturday February 8th, 9 am - 11 am Follow one of our present day Lighthouse Keepers on his rounds. This bottom to top tour takes you from the auxiliary generator and Light Keepers workshop in the basement of the Keeper’s Quarters to the beacon in the lantern room of the lighthouse tower. Learn how Lighthouse Keepers in the 1860’s to 2025 maintained the light. Includes a tour of the Lens Building, which houses our original first order Fresnel Lens, and the Boat House. Tour takes approximately 2 hours and starts at 9 am. $15 for FILPS Members/$20 for non-members – Limit 10 people. Reservations required. Call 631-583-5901 for reservations

Friday February 28th, 6 pm Come join us for some backyard astronomy with a guided viewing of the "Parade of Planets" from the terrace of the Fire Island Lighthouse. All the planets travel along the same path in the sky called ecliptic, which is an extension of Earth's orbital plane across the solar system. ​ This event is FREE. A guided Tower Tour is also available at the cost of $15 for members and $25 for non-members. Reservations required for the Tower Tour. Limit 20 people. Please bring binoculars for viewing. Parking is at Field #5 RMSP. Dress for the weather and bring a flashlight for your walk back to your car. Reservations required for the Tower Tour. Call 631-583-5901 for reservations
