Bring Back The Lens
Here at the Lighthouse we are working hard to bring back our original First Order Fresnel Lens. The lens was originally in place from 1858 until 1933. For a time it was on display at the Franklin Institute in Philladelphia, PA. Currently it is in storage at the Fire Island National Seashore Curatorial Storage Facility.
We are in the process of planning and building a structure to house the lens next to the Lighthouse. Please check back more information about the project will be provided.
