We are currently in the process of moving our events list from our current style into an easier to use style. Please bear with us as this process is completed. The Fire Island Lighthouse is an active aid to navigation. It is open to the public for guided tower tours. Join our experienced staff for a panoramic view of the Atlantic Ocean, the Great South Bay, Fire Island, Long Island and the Manhattan Skyline. The Empire State Building is often visible on a clear day. There is an exhibit area, as well as a gift shop, located in the original Keeper's Quarters. The Fire Island Lighthouse is a perfect place for individuals, families, or groups to visit, any time of year.

Located within the Fire Island National Seashore, the surrounding area is rich in history, wildlife and activities. In addition to visiting the Lighthouse, you will have an opportunity to enjoy birds, fox and deer or learn about the area's natural history on either a guided or self-guided nature walk. Perhaps you may choose to visit some of the nearby towns on Fire Island, or just relax on the beach. Captree Boat Basin is located across the Inlet, where you can board a charter boat for a day of fishing.
